The Gap Year Gang Are Hanging Out By The Airport As Stefan Flies to Cairns

A Last Look At Sydney
The alarm rudely kicked me out of bed at 4:40am and I got dressed. I knocked on Stefan’s door and he was loaded up ready to go. There is some concern over the amount of luggage he is trying to carry on to his flight but what can you do, he has all his dive kit to carry. It’s crazy that Surf boards, golf clubs etc can go on board as sports equipment, yet scuba diving kit isn’t, just another example I guess of one rule for one……
So we loaded up the car and headed for the domestic airport which was only a few minutes away. We had a bit of a drive around as Stefan could not remember which airline he was due to fly on but eventually he got it sorted. I dropped him off, he will be in Cairns within a few hours.
I went back to the Hotel and picked up my Mac book and walked around the corner to the Mucky D’s for a very early breakfast and most importantly an internet connection. I checked emails and Facebook. I hung there for a couple of hours and then went back to the Hotel. I had shower etc and then leaving Sofia still sleeping drove the car back to the Surrey Hills area of Sydney.
I parked the car on Crown Street and had a couple of hours wander around in very beautiful warm sunshine.
I really like this part of Sydney, such a colorful area (in a rainbow flag kind of way!), it’s got a good buzz, a place to hang around drinking coffee and people watch.
Driving back towards the airport I took the car back to Budget car rental at around 1:0pm. I was a bit concerned that nobody wanted to check the car, the women took the keys and sent me on my way telling me that was all, no checking the car or anything, either lazy or life is relaxed here.
I caught a Taxi back to the Hotel.
Sofia was up and showered, I on the other hand was ready to jump in bed. She joined me and I soon fell asleep. A couple of hours later I awoke and got dressed and we gathered the kids and we went to the McDonalds so that everybody could have something to eat (where we were our food options consisted of McD’s or Krispy Kreme!) and also check their emails. Eventually returning to our less than comfortable rooms ready to park for our flight tomorrow.
I watched TV waiting for the usual delayed Grand Prix coverage with too many adverts and bad local content. Thankfully Jenson again drove a near perfect race. I like Lewis Hamilton but am pleased to see him suffering this year, it will make him a better driver to have to actually fight just to stay mid field. Jenson took a lot of shit over the last two seasons when Lewis was driving far and away the best car and Jenson had a pile of shit, Now the tables are turned and Lewis has been whining like a bitch stating that with a decent car he could be up there, we know! As could 75% of the drivers on that grid today. However, and it was proven today Jenson is amongst the smoothest and fastest drivers on the grid. Jenson made the supersoft tires work far better for him than his team mate and Rubens has driven way more Grand Prix than any of the current crop of drivers.
