Wednesday 25th February 2009, Little India, Singapore
Well the morning after the night before. OK I admit it is true that on this holiday I have had beer almost every day, but honestly ask anybody who knows me back in the UK, I hardly ever drink. So last night was a real turn back the clock deal and the body has to pay.
Back down to the MRT to free and fast and cool internet land to find out where Stefan is and the answer is no where – he is heading down to us in Singapore and should successfully get here a day or two after we leave, and he is only coming down so that Mum and Dad can bail him out so that he can go back to Pattaya with money for a another month, the offer of a free trip to Australia is not appealing to him at the moment.
Sasha has been in contact and will be with us by around 9:00am tomorrow.
While I was doing that Sofia had dragged Basty down to the hotel pool for a dip.
We were going to head to Little India today my Brother in Law had recommended checking it out, especially Mustafa’s.
But first we got a taxi to Muddy Murphy’s for lunch as Sofia (rightly) said Basty would have the Bacon Butty. Once again good food, from there we got a taxi to Little India, it is wonderful a really exciting part of town, very atmospheric and with great shopping and indeed Mustafa’s was a fantastic place and we bought quite a few items, including a very nice smaller rucksack, with good quality integral wheels. this time a nice quality affair, that will allow me to pass my old blue one onto Sofia and dump my laptop bag, Sofia got herself some swimming shoes, plus also some henna and a nose ring as well, the latter horrified Basty. We tried to find him some new sandals as his are getting rather worn.
It rained all the time we were at Little India but it did not matter. We ate at a roadside Indian café and Sofia and I had Roti.
We stopped to admire the wonderful Indian temple, so exotic and mysterious, if you are going to do religion this is what it should look like, exciting and mysterious and breathtaking with fairy lights thrown in.
We strolled back to the hotel slowly and did the whole packing thing again, tomorrow we would be leaving Singapore and Asia.
