(this happened on) Boxing Day (December 26th) 2010 ib SIngapore

Orchard Road, Singapore Dec 26th 2010 - Packed Solid - Singaporeans come to shop!
We woke up with the ship berthed at Jurong Port, Singapore and at around 9:45am Sofia and I walked down the gangplank and onto the shuttle bus to the Harbour Front.
Once there we hopped in a taxi and headed for the Singapore Art Museum and for a couple of hours we mainly enjoyed the fare on display. The gallery itself is a beautiful old building.
Next we headed over to Orchard Road (One of the world finest shopping streets). As usual the place was packed, shopping really is a way of life for Singaporeans, but today, well that was something else, whether in the shops or on the pavements there really was no room to move, it was a shopping frenzy.
Finally we made it to the Cafe on the Street at the Marriott Hotel (one of our favorite places to pass a few hours eating, drinking and watching the world go by).
We enjoyed a quiet drink until our boys arrived along with Stefan’s girlfriend. They had spent the last few days at our place in Johor. So, it was nice to be able to spend an hour or so with them.
The food at the Marriott was as always very good. Sadly time was against us so kissing our boys goodbye we headed back to the MRT and then back to the ship.
After dinner onboard we did our usual cards and drinks and people watching.
We watched as people danced to the bands, then just as the joint was rockin’ (as the youth said 50 years ago!) they stopped for BINGO really! Somebody should shoot the entertainments manager for such a cack handed move, there are bars all over the ship. Why on earth don’t they just make an announcement that the few sad sacks who just wanna play bingo go to a different (less busy bar) and play. As it turned out the whole thing fell apart as they could not even get enough people interested. Way to go, stopped the place dead for nothing.
After a few drinks and after suffering badly at cards as Sofia trounced me turning a 100 point deficit into a 300 point lead! I took her back to the cabin and set her up on the internet on my mac and headed off to the casino.
While walking down the corridor I heard the unmistakable sounds of a couple having sex from another cabin. Now, I am sure some of you would be shocked and appalled by such an occurrence but frankly I found it a massive turn on. So, much so that I stopped when I could hear it no more and very slowly walked back down the corridor and past there room as the young (I presume) lady huffed and puffed with more and more cries of yes, yes, that’s good etc. I then turned around and walked back to our room and told Sofia about it before setting off for the casino again, they were still at it. Dam that guy has some staying power. Ahh the power of youth.
After that excitement the casino was a damp squib as my last two remaining 50 euro chips were surrendered meekly and with barely a squeak.
Time for bed.
