The Gap Year Gang Do Different Things

Vegas Glitters
Again Todays Post Is Split Into Two, The Boys Day and The Girls Day.
The Boys Day
Sofia and Sasha went off to watch films at the Orleans Cinema leaving us boys to fend for ourselves.
After a late start went over to the Orleans.
We decided to eat at The Prime Rib Loft, yet another awesomely good quality great value steak place and yet another problem with the bloody credit card credit card, I really should have sorted out a couple of alternative cards before we left, having all our cards at the same bank had led to so many problems.
All the cash from the Poker win has gone no,w so the party is almost over, soon we will have to head to our new home and begin a new stage in our life.
After the food we headed to the Mardi Gras Ballroom to watch Tuff N Uff – Amatuer MMA (Mixed Martial Arts).
The place was all but sold out and the atmosphere was very good, the fights were exciting and all in all we had a night of awesome entertainment and at a fraction of the cost of a UFC fight.
People in Vegas are so lucky with the massive list of entertainment options, if I had a bit more money to spend I could have watched Depech Mode tonight, it’s a never ending roundabout of entertainment.
Vegas is not just gambling, oh no it’s much more than that and it’s better value than almost any other city in the world.
We walked back to the Gold Coast and then I played Poker for a couple of hours for just a $5 loss.
Back in the room I once again stayed up all night to watch the Grand Prix (via text) radio 5 did not do commentary for me, what’s the point of putting your show on the internet if you then wont let it be heard in certain territories, surely the people who then are allowed to hear it are actually in the country in which it is available on the radio or indeed the TV!
Formula 1 does not seem to be on TV in the USA, probably because it’s not a sport they dominate and every time they send a driver over from the American versions of motor sport they with very few exceptions fail dismally.
So of course that’s it no F1 on American TV, only games they have invented that nobody else gives a shit about but it means the Americans can claim to be world champions, I give you the bore fest that is Basketball and American Football. One for freakishly tall people and the other for people who are too pussy to play rugby.

Girls Day Out
I got up when Sasha rang our room.
The boys were doing their own thing today so, it was Sasha and I heading over to the Orleans on our own.
We first went to the Chocolate shop where I had some sugar free truffles and Sasha had a kind of rocky road, but bits of it kept falling off onto the floor.
We booked tickets for the Time Travellers Wife, as we had some time we went into the arcade and played Bumble Bee, Sasha managed to score 14 which was the same as Alan had managed when he had played and she beat me by 1 point.
We gave our arcade gift tickets to a little girl and we bought some hot dogs as we were ready to see our film.
A good film, I cried and enjoyed it, highly recommended and a five tissue film.
We booked tickets for Julie and Julia then went back to the main casino to have a bite of supper we went to Big Al’s Oyster Bar where I had a half dozen Oysters followed by Clam Linguini both very good even if I only managed half my pasta and Sasha only managed half her Caesar Chicken Salad.
The restaurant was decorated with great murals that looked very New Orleans, giant magnolias trees draped with Spanish moss, lots of rose bushes, statues and birds.
We went back up to the cinema at about the time that the boys fight night was due to start.
Julie and Julia was a lovely film it made me cry but it was only a three tissue film, it was charming and highly recommended.
Sasha and I then got the shuttle back to the Gold Coast.
We got some drinks from the shop and then went bowling, neither of us were very good.
We went back to the room then Stefan and Basty turned up, they had all walked back from the Orleans, Alan stopped at the Gold Coast poker room.
The boys were telling me about a fight involving Dan Aykroyed which sort of puzzled me (I found out later that apparently the guy just looked like him).
They got to see Randy Couture (not fighting, although his Son, Ryan was) which impressed them.
I had a strange snake dream and when Alan touched me as I was asleep I jumped a mile.
