(this happened on 19th November 2010, in Hong Kong)
Shopping
We had pretty much exhausted all we planned to do in Hong Kong, and perhaps we had left too much time in this city. We had an extra day courtesy of our change in travel plans from Shanghai and we had decided not to go to Macau on account of it being Grand Prix weekend and most likely chaotic.
So we went shopping.
The only thing I can really add from the remainder of our stay in Hong Kong is that a well known Chinese Restaurant in Pacific Place called Zen, fell well below my expectations. The service was poor, the food was OK and the price ridiculous. One of our ordered items did not appear even after asking for it’s whereabouts twice, and I even had to ask them to remove it from the bill, even though they knew we had not received it. Many business people meet here for lunch, I suggest you give Zen a miss and leave it to the power lunchers.
The other point of note was that now Hong Kong seemed far more friendly and civilized compared to China, people understood us, getting around was easy, we were not pushed and shoved nearly as much and did not have to put up the constant sound of people hawking up and spitting. Isn’t it interesting how one place can actually change your perception of another?
When we arrive home on 20th Nov, we were so glad to be back in our little apartment in Makati. The trip was fantastic; a journey of a lifetime, but it’s good to be home.

G & T bid us a fond farewell, thanks for the trip report guys!
