The Gap Year Gang Visit Green Patch Beach, Wow!

Green Patch Beach at Booderee National Park, A Beautiful Soft Sandy Beach

This morning we got up ready to hit the road, Glenn wanted to take us to Booderee, a national park  roughly an hours drive away.

The drive was nice and when we pulled up in the car park we were once again in a little piece of Aussie peace and quiet, we wandered down the path to a beach (Green Patch Beach) that if it was on a Caribbean island would be front page of all advertising literature, but this is Australia and beaches like this are not so rare, the sand was the whitest softest sand, the beach fringed by forest, the water clear and the whole bay very sheltered, as usual in Oz, we pretty well had the beach all to ourselves.

Sofia and Nicky parked up and walked down to the white, white powdery sandy beach, enjoying the spectacular scenery. Basty climbed the rocks, the girls played in the sand. It kept trying to rain but didn’t really manage it.

This was probably the cleanest, most beautiful beach I have ever been on and yet it’s all but deserted.

Stefan had a quick snorkel from the beach, but he did not have a wetsuit and the water was far from the warmth he is used to, he lasted maybe 15 minutes.

We drove back to a town called Husskison and found a pub where we all ordered food.

My food was OK, but not great. We had a short wander around this nice little seaside town before returning to Ulladulla. We walked along the harbour towards the car and the kids rolly pollied down a grass bank, Sasha skinned her knee and grazed her elbow. We got back into the car and headed back in a very long and twisty way, in fact after a while we seemed to drive straight back through Husskison and then we headed to Ulladulla.

The ladies provided us all with wonderful food, Satay Chicken, BBQ Chicken, Tandoori Chicken and plum sauce. Sasha put it all on the skewers, Nicky did Nasi Goren Rice and we made loads of dips, much wine, beer and cider were consumed and a good evening was had.
