The Gap Year Gang Enjoy A Great Tarantino

We got up late and headed over to the Palms as we were going to see Inglourious Basterds, Tarantinos latest film.

We had some time before it started to each have a bite to eat, I decided on McD’s, I hate myself for doing that!, Basty and Sasha also joined me, Sofia went with a Nathans Philly Cheesesteak, Stefan went down the Pizza route.

While we waited Sofia sat reading her book while we both tried our best to ignore the couple next to us arguing, they were very entertaining.

Sofia had a really good cup of Earl Grey from the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, it was a four star cuppa as far as she was concerned.

Tarantino rewrites history and Hitler gets killed in Paris. USA wins World War II again and even quicker this time.

Sofia’s review said “No tissues needed but I did need to cover my eyes a few times because some of the violence, scalping and carving swastikas into foreheads did get to me”.

The film was way better than I expected, not because I don’t like Tarantino and was not expecting greatness, I think he is amazing, but because all the haters and so called film critics had started the backlash.

Well they were all wrong, this is a tremendous film, it just pulls you in from the opening scene and drags you along, Tarantino is the best film maker of my age and nobody writes dialogue like he does.

An easy 10/10 and Brad Pitt and the rest of the cast were brilliant.

After the film we headed over to the Mandalay Bay as we wanted to see Purple Reign again (the Prince Tribute Band) but this time with the kids, when we got there the queue was quite some length so to save time Sofia checked that there would be no problem taking Basty in, but it was worse than that as it’s a 21+ neither Basty, Stefan or Sasha could go in.

Sorry, I love Vegas but this is totally retarded, Sasha and Stefan had already been to see bands in Vegas, but this which lets not forget is a tribute band in what’s basically a restaurant and yet we could not all go for a nice meal and to watch a band play. BULLSHIT!

We left and walked across to the New York New York where Sasha and Stefan had a ride on the Roller Coaster and after that we headed on down the strip stopping at the CVS before continuing to Bill’s to catch the shuttle back to the Gold Coast.

I headed for the Poker room and had a pleasant few hours of play, made even better because I won tonight.

I really enjoy playing poker in the Gold Coast, the regular gamblers are a great bunch and the staff are superb and really contribute to the atmosphere.

I will really miss these people.
